Cooked too much adobo the other day and don't know what to do with it? Well, if you're like us and you don't want to waste food by throwing it away, you turn it into adobo fried rice!
You're going to need pretty much all of your leftover so read up before you throw anything away.
By the way, Tio Manuel is just Tito Manny, but the dish sounds better when To Man's name is translated to Spanish, isn't it? :)
What You're Going To Need: a large skillet pan
Heat Source: stove top
Ingredients:
leftover adobo
leftover/freshly steamed rice
chopped garlic
egg(s)
butter
salt/pepper
Procedure:
- Slice the adobo into small bite-size pieces.
- Scramble the eggs and slice them into little ribbons/pieces.
- In your skillet pan, fry the garlic until golden brown.
- Once the garlic is done, add the rice, adobo pieces, egg and butter until the better has melted. Make sure that you stir the rice around the skillet so that the butter spreads evenly all over the rice.
- Lastly, pour some of the leftover adobo sauce to add color and flavor to the rice.
That's it! Serve and enjoy. It's very easy and you don't even have to feel guilty that you wasted food.
Bon appetit! :)
